At around 9 p.m. yesterday, Chernihiv patrol police received a call reporting a murder on Dmytro Samokvassov Street. An unknown man claimed he had fatally stabbed another person. A patrol unit was immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, officers found a 24-year-old man showing clear signs of intoxication. During questioning, he admitted he had made the entire story up for entertainment. Officers drew up an administrative report against the man under Article 183 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences — "Deliberately false call to emergency services." The article carries a fine ranging from 850 to 3,400 hryvnias. Police are reminding the public that every false call wastes resources that could be needed by someone in genuine danger. Dial 102 only in a real emergency.
