Chernihiv Oblast education official to stand trial for embezzling over 1.2 million hryvnias in public funds

Police investigators in Chernihiv district, working alongside the prosecutor's office and the Security Service of Ukraine, have completed their pre-trial inquiry and referred charges to court against an official of the district education department whose actions caused losses of more than 1.2 million hryvnias to the community budget.

Investigators from the Chernihiv District Police Department, under the procedural supervision of the Chernihiv District Prosecutor's Office and with operational support from the SBU Directorate in Chernihiv Oblast, have wrapped up their pre-trial investigation into an official employed by the local education management authority. According to investigators, the suspect abused his official position, causing damage to the community budget in excess of 1.2 million hryvnias. An indictment has been submitted to court.
