Chernihiv Patrol Officers Find 8-Year-Old Boy Who Did Not Return from a Walk

A father contacted police on Wednesday evening after his son went outside to play and failed to come home. Officers working together with the father located the child on Lisova Street.

On Wednesday evening, a Chernihiv resident called the emergency line 102 to report that his 8-year-old son had gone out for a walk but had not returned home and was not answering his phone. A patrol crew arrived at the scene immediately. The officers spoke with the father, gathered a description of the child, and broadcast an alert over the radio. Patrols then joined the father in searching the surrounding streets and courtyards. During a sweep of Lisova Street, one of the crews spotted the boy. The father was brought to the location without delay and reunited with his son. Police officers held a preventive conversation with the family and notified juvenile prevention staff about the incident. Police are urging parents to keep close track of their children's whereabouts and to agree with them in advance on a time to return home. If a child goes missing and cannot be reached, residents are advised to call 102 immediately.
