Rollover crash on M-01 highway: Volvo driver was drunk
A Volvo V50 rolled over on the M-01 highway (Kyiv – Chernihiv – Novi Yarylovychi) near Rivnopillia after a tire blowout. The driver was behind the wheel while intoxicated and received two administrative citations.

Yesterday at around 10:00 a.m., police received a call on the 102 emergency line reporting a vehicle rollover on the M-01 highway near Rivnopillia. Patrol officers and paramedics were dispatched to the scene. According to police, the rear left tire of the Volvo V50 burst while the car was in motion. The driver lost control, clipped the roadside shoulder, and the vehicle rolled over. Paramedics transported the man to hospital, though he later reported that he had not sustained any injuries. While speaking with the driver at the scene, patrol officers noticed clear signs of alcohol intoxication. A check confirmed the suspicion. The man was cited under Article 124 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences for a traffic violation resulting in an accident, and under Article 130 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Police are reminding drivers to inspect their vehicles before every trip, checking tire condition, the braking system, lighting, and fluid levels. Timely maintenance checks help prevent accidents and save lives.
