Today is the second anniversary of the death of Dmytro Serdyuk, an electrician specialising in the repair and installation of cable lines at Cable Lines Section No. 3 of the Central Repair Shop of Chernihiv City Electric Networks. On 3 August 2024, while carrying out a combat mission in the Serebryansk forest in Luhansk Oblast, he suffered a fatal wound. That day, enemy artillery struck a column of Ukrainian soldiers, and one of the shells hit the vehicle in which Dmytro and his comrades were travelling. Dmytro joined Chernihiv City Electric Networks immediately after graduating from Pryluky Agrarian College and worked there until April 2022. When the full-scale invasion began, he was mobilised along with two colleagues. He first served in the National Guard, defending his native Chernihiv Oblast, and later was deployed to the Eastern front. Colleagues remember Dmytro as a decent, warm-hearted and kind person, a skilled professional and a loyal friend. He had many friends among his fellow energy workers. Eternal rest and lasting memory to the hero.
