Thirteen-year-old Timofiy Karpenko from Chernihiv is making and selling handmade flowers crafted from chenille wire in an effort to raise money for his mother's surgery. As Tetiana Karpenko told Suspilne, she suffered fractures to the head and neck of her femur, which led to the development of necrosis of the right hip joint. She is now unable to move without crutches. Unable to stand by while his mother struggles, Timofiy took matters into his own hands — producing the delicate wire flowers himself and selling them to anyone willing to help.
