Over 50 Homes to Be Purchased for Internally Displaced Persons in Chernihiv Oblast

The Ukrainian government is implementing a project to provide housing for internally displaced persons in Chernihiv Oblast. Under the initiative, more than 50 houses are planned for purchase to accommodate displaced people who need a permanent place of residence in the region. The project was developed by the Cabinet of Ministers and aims to address the acute housing crisis facing millions of Ukrainians who were forced to flee their homes due to Russia's armed aggression. Chernihiv Oblast, as a frontline region, is among the priority areas for the rollout of such initiatives. The detailed financing mechanism, criteria for selecting housing recipients, and the programme's implementation timeline are still being finalised. Residents of Chernihiv Oblast who hold internally displaced person status will be able to take part in the programme once the official terms of participation are announced.
