Chernihiv is experiencing deteriorating weather conditions, with rain, gusty winds, and thunderstorms reported across the city. Authorities are urging both drivers and pedestrians to take extra precautions. Drivers are advised to reduce their speed, maintain a safe following distance, switch on dipped headlights, and avoid flooded sections of road. If rainfall becomes too heavy, it is better to pull over and wait it out in a safe location. Pedestrians should cross the road only at designated crossings, stay well clear of trees, advertising structures, and power lines, and use reflective elements when moving around after dark. Where possible, people are encouraged to remain indoors until the storm passes. Parking vehicles near trees, old structures, or electricity poles is also strongly discouraged, as strong winds may cause them to fall. In the event of an emergency, residents should call 102.
