How Housing Subsidies Are Calculated During Heating and Non-Heating Seasons

Housing subsidies in Ukraine are calculated differently depending on whether the current period falls within the heating or non-heating season. During the heating season, the subsidy calculation includes expenses for heating as well as other utility services such as gas, electricity, water supply, and sewage. During the non-heating season, the subsidy covers only those services that a household is actually using during that period. The amount of assistance is determined based on consumption standards and the difference between actual tariff rates and the mandatory contribution required from the household itself. Chernihiv residents are advised to check the current conditions for subsidy assignment and recalculation with their local social protection authorities or through the government services portal.
