At around 1:00 p.m. yesterday, a staff member of a local medical facility called the emergency line 102 to report that an 11-year-old boy had gone missing from the paediatric ward. A patrol crew arrived at the scene immediately. It emerged that the child had been placed in hospital due to a lack of adequate parental care. Under a decision by the child welfare service, the boy was to be transferred to relatives. However, his father took the child without any legal basis and left in an unknown direction. Patrol officers gathered descriptions of the child, the man, and their vehicle, then immediately circulated the information to all crews operating in the city and on nearby roads. Shortly afterwards, traffic inspectors stopped a matching vehicle on the M-01 highway (Kyiv – Chernihiv – Novi Yarylovychi). The 11-year-old boy and his 39-year-old father were found inside the car. An investigative and operational team was called to the scene to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
