Chernihiv patrol police, together with representatives of the local veterans' community, are carrying out preventive outreach measures aimed at raising driver awareness about the importance of accessible parking spaces for people with disabilities. The issue of barrier-free access has taken on special significance as more residents of the city are defenders who have returned from the front with disabilities and are on a long road to recovery. For many of these people, a car is their primary or only convenient means of getting around, making the distance from a parking space to a building entrance a matter of real importance. Patrol officers stress that a designated disability parking space is not a privilege but a condition for independence and safe mobility. The right to use such spaces belongs to drivers with disabilities and to those transporting people with disabilities. Police are calling on all drivers to be attentive and to respect every person's right to accessible and convenient movement throughout the city.
