On the evening of 20 July 2025, a public protest rally took place at Kraska Square in Chernihiv. According to various estimates, more than 150 people took part in the demonstration. Participants expressed their opposition to the dismissal of former Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and called for the removal of current Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi. Maksym Bohomaz, one of the co-organisers of the Chernihiv protest, told Suspilne that participants are taking a break until Friday and are giving the president time to make a relevant decision. The organisers thus reserve the right to resume protests if there is no response from the country's leadership.
