20-Year-Old Driver Crashes Into Fence on Myr Avenue After Speeding

Patrol officers in Chernihiv discovered the aftermath of a traffic accident on Myr Avenue late in the evening: a Chevrolet Evanda had left the roadway and struck a metal fence and a road sign. The driver faces administrative liability.

At around 11:00 p.m. yesterday, patrol officers on duty along Myr Avenue in Chernihiv came across a damaged metal fence and a car bearing mechanical damage consistent with a road traffic accident. Investigation established that a 20-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Evanda, travelling along Myr Avenue, failed to choose a safe speed appropriate to the road conditions. As a result, he lost control of the vehicle, left the carriageway, and collided with a metal fence and a road sign. Officers drew up an administrative report against the driver under Article 124 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences, which covers violations of traffic rules that result in a road accident. The case materials have been forwarded to court for further consideration and a ruling. Police are urging all drivers to strictly observe traffic regulations, adjust their speed to match road and weather conditions, and remain attentive and responsible behind the wheel.
