At around 5:00 a.m. today, patrol police officers on duty on Narodnogo Rukhu Street in Chernihiv noticed a Geely MR-7151A travelling in violation of traffic rules. When the driver spotted the flashing lights, the 46-year-old pulled over to the roadside and attempted to flee on foot, but officers caught up with him immediately. During the interaction, inspectors observed visible signs of alcohol intoxication. The man agreed to take a breathalyser test using a Dräger device, which showed a result of 1.75 per mille. Officers additionally established that the man had previously been deprived of his right to drive motor vehicles. Administrative reports were drawn up against the offender under Article 130 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences (driving a vehicle while intoxicated) and Article 126 of the same code (driving a vehicle by a person whose licence has been revoked). The driver was removed from the wheel.
