Remembering Ivan Kupriienko: Chernihivoblenerho Security Chief Killed in Luhansk Oblast

Ivan Kupriienko, head of the security department at Chernihivoblenerho, was killed in action on 3 June 2024 near Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast. On the second anniversary of his death, colleagues remember him as a true patriot and a person of exceptional warmth.

On 3 June 2024, Ivan Kupriienko, head of the security department at JSC Chernihivoblenerho, was killed near Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast. An enemy shell struck the defenders' vehicle while it was in motion. Ivan Mykolaiovych Kupriienko joined Chernihivoblenerho in 2012 and in 2020 was appointed to lead its security department. On 28 February 2022, as Russian forces encircled Chernihiv, he enlisted in the Territorial Defence. He initially carried out combat missions in Chernihiv Oblast before being deployed to the eastern front. "Vanya was a true patriot. He cared deeply about Ukraine's fate and dreamed of liberating it from the enemy. And he was simply a wonderful person — kind, sincere, full of life. He loved life and taught others to do the same by his own example," his colleagues recalled. On the second anniversary of his death, Ivan Kupriienko lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
