Railway Crossing Safety: A Reminder for Drivers

Due to possible disruptions to traffic light systems at railway crossings caused by enemy shelling, drivers are being reminded of the rules for crossing railway tracks.

A railway crossing is a zone of heightened danger where attentiveness and compliance with traffic regulations are critical. A few seconds of carelessness can lead to tragic consequences. As drivers approach a crossing, they are advised to reduce speed and pay close attention to road signs and signals; stop before the stop line, barrier, or traffic light when passage is prohibited; make sure no train is approaching before crossing the tracks; and assess road conditions, avoiding entering the crossing if traffic is backed up. A special note: due to enemy shelling, traffic light systems at railway crossings may sometimes malfunction. For this reason, extra caution is now particularly important. Stay safe and follow the rules of the road.
