Starting 16 June 2026, municipal utility crews will carry out planned cleaning and disinfection of clean-water reservoir No. 2 — a 3,000 m³ tank — at water supply pumping station No. 4 'Polubotky' in Chernihiv. On 18 June 2026, the reservoir will be drained and refilled as part of the process. Residents in neighbouring districts served by this station may temporarily notice a chlorine odour and slight sediment in their tap water on that day. Both effects are normal outcomes of the standard disinfection procedure and pose no health risk. Residents are advised to stock up on drinking water in advance or to use filtration on 18 June.
