RPG, automatic rifles and 6,000 rounds: man detained in Chernihiv district village for illegal weapons storage

Law enforcement officers detained a resident of a village in Chernihiv district after discovering a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, automatic firearms and more than six thousand rounds of ammunition.

Police detained a man in a village in Chernihiv district on suspicion of illegal weapons storage. During a search of the premises, officers seized a rocket-propelled grenade launcher (RPG), automatic small arms and approximately 6,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibres. Criminal proceedings have been opened in connection with the illegal storage of weapons and ammunition. Investigators are continuing their work and are establishing the circumstances under which the arsenal was acquired. Details of the case are not being disclosed in the interests of the investigation.
