On the previous evening, patrol officers on duty along Mykhalevycha Street in Chernihiv noticed a car showing signs of smoke and a crowd of people gathered nearby. Without hesitation, the inspectors retrieved their service fire extinguisher and began tackling the blaze to prevent it from spreading. Passers-by who happened to be driving past also joined in to help. Through their combined efforts, the fire was quickly contained and more serious consequences were avoided. Shortly afterwards, rescue services arrived at the scene and fully extinguished the fire. Police are reminding drivers to regularly check their vehicle's technical condition, electrical wiring, and fuel system, and to keep a working fire extinguisher inside the car. In the event of a fire, call 101 or 102 immediately.
