As part of the 'Cycling September 2026' challenge, an educational safety inspector organised a 'Bike to School' event for students at one of Chernihiv's gymnasiums. The theoretical portion of the session covered key topics: traffic rules for cyclists, safe behaviour on the road, how to prepare a bicycle for a ride, and the importance of personal protective equipment — helmets, reflectors and similar gear. The practical part proved equally engaging: the students set off on a cycling route through the city accompanied by patrol officers. Along the way, pupils practised riding in a dedicated cycle lane and crossing pedestrian crossings safely — including the requirement for cyclists to dismount before crossing. The organisers stressed that events like this help children not only learn the rules but also apply them in real situations. A safe ride, they noted, starts with knowledge and responsibility.
