The leadership of the Chernihiv Oblast Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center has commented on the mobilization of Mykola Kulichenko, asserting that its actions were fully in accordance with the law. Kulichenko is one of three brothers from Chernihiv Oblast who were shot by Russian troops in March 2022. Mykola survived: wounded, he managed to dig himself out of the grave where the occupiers had thrown him. His harrowing and remarkable story of survival drew widespread attention across Ukraine. Despite what he had endured, Kulichenko was subsequently drafted into the armed forces, sparking a public debate. Representatives of the recruitment center emphasized that the call-up was carried out in strict compliance with current legislation.
