Yesterday, at around 3 p.m., patrol officers conducting a road safety operation on Kotsyubynsky Lane pulled over a Renault Megane for a traffic violation. When speaking with the driver, a 64-year-old man, officers noticed visible signs of alcohol intoxication. A Drager breathalyzer test carried out on the spot returned a reading of 3.53 per mille — almost 18 times above the permitted level. The driver disputed the breathalyzer result and was taken for a secondary medical examination. Doctors confirmed that the man was in a state of alcohol intoxication. An administrative case has been opened against the offender under Article 130 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences, which covers driving a vehicle while intoxicated. The man has been prohibited from operating his vehicle. The Patrol Police reminded the public that driving under the influence of alcohol is a serious violation of the law and poses a direct threat to the life and health of all road users.
