Person Caught at Chernihiv Checkpoint Trying to Pass Soldiers an Explosive Disguised as a McDonald's Burger

Law enforcement detained an individual who attempted to hand a homemade explosive device concealed inside a McDonald's burger to military personnel at a checkpoint in Chernihiv.

In Chernihiv Oblast, officers from the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), and the prosecutor's office jointly detained a person who tried to deliver a homemade explosive device to soldiers at one of the checkpoints in the city of Chernihiv. The device had been disguised as a McDonald's burger. SBU investigators, under the procedural supervision of the prosecutor's office, are currently carrying out the necessary investigative steps. Authorities are considering formally notifying the detained individual of suspicion. Law enforcement said additional details about the circumstances of the case would be released at a later time.
